Orchard Way, East Grinstead is a new build of 22, 1 and 2 bedroom flats, fourteen of the flats will be for shared ownership and eight to rented specification, two of the flats are to comply to wheelchair standards.

The site was previously used as an old council office and the three storey structure that previously occupied the site was demolished as part of the contract to make way for the new building. The location of the site is at the bottom of a large hill and at the end of a small close in a central town location making deliveries to site difficult.

The scheme incorporates two blocks, one of three storeys and the other six storeys. All constructed to an Eco Homes standard of "Very Good" and incorporates renewable energy in the form of PV panels.

Rydon secured the scheme through competitive tender for Saxon Weald. All works to the site are due for completion and handover in August 2009.
