We have many Apprentices working with us at Rydon in the construction, maintenance and office support disciplines.

We aim to draw our Apprentices from the local community adjacent to our sites to support local regeneration and the skills development of young people.

Typically, our Apprentices combine a blend of working on site – either with a maintenance operative or shadowing a site manager – and day release at college to achieve a Level 2 NVQ (typically two years) or Level 3 NVQ (typically three years) nationally recognised qualification. Apprentices generally follow the guidelines laid out in the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) apprenticeship scheme.

We try to be as flexible as possible with our apprenticeships, offering the opportunity for people to spend time on a number of different construction trades to find out which suits them best as they embark on the next step of their career path.
