Youth charity The Prince’s Trust helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track. It supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion.

Many of the young people helped by The Prince’s Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law.

The Trust’s programmes give vulnerable young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping develop self-esteem and skills for work. Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training.

Rydon has enjoyed a long association with The Prince’s Trust, helping to inspire many young people to work in the construction industry. We hosted the first ever Get into Construction programme delivered entirely on a live construction site.

We are also a member of The Prince's Trust's Construction and Business Services Leadership Group, which helps to fund and facilitate courses for vulnerable young people across the UK. Through our work, we have become The Trust's gold standard company for this group. We also won their Inspiring Leaders award for London and the South East in 2009.

Our site-based two-week Get into Construction programmes deliver training for young people on a range of construction trades as well as on health and safety. We are particularly proud of our success rate, which includes a 100% pass rate for securing CSCS cards – essential to secure work on any construction site.

We have employed several young people following the programme as apprentices, as full-time staff and have helped others secure opportunities through our supply chain.
