Rydon has been a sponsor of The Prince's Trust's Construction and Services Industry Group since 2006. In November 2008, at our Packington Estate regeneration project in Islington, Rydon worked with Hyde Housing Association and The Prince's Trust to deliver a programme of training and experience for unemployed 16 to 25 year olds. Following the Trust's structured "Get Into Construction" training programme, they underwent a selection procedure, attended taster days and spent two weeks training on a number of construction trades and on Health and Safety. This was the first "Get Into Construction" programme to have been fully delivered on a live construction site.

Trainers included members of the subcontractor supply chain as well as Rydon staff. All ten students passed their CSCS certificate, the first time a Prince's Trust course has achieved a 100% pass rate. Following the programme, Rydon employed two of the students, one as a construction trainee at the Packington Estate and the other in the Maintenance division.
