Our trade taster days let people come and see what the trades do, try out the skill for themselves and speak to the operatives on training opportunities, both on the job and through college. These days have proved very successful on a number of inner London projects and provided a number of apprenticeships and opportunities to the community. We use local contractors on these initiatives with a view to providing ongoing work opportunities when our own contract is completed.

We also work with The Young Builders' Trust (Build & Train), a nationwide scheme designed to train young people to NVQ level through college and practical site training. Through liaison with The Young Builders' Trust Co-ordinator, we have provided practical site training for young people on a number of different projects.

Our management trainee scheme allows participants to study on a day release basis to achieve a BTEC, ONC, HNC or degree qualification with fees paid by Rydon and full-time on the job training provided outside college time.
