Phase III of Pepys Estate, Hillside Hub, Oaklands in Uxbridge Road and the planned development in New Cross Gate are all to be showcased at the ‘Des Res Housing Challenge’ exhibition based at the New London Architecture Centre (NLA)
These developments were chosen for their design and density amongst various other qualities. In particular the reasons for the selection of Pepys Phase III highlighted were ‘energy efficiency on site’ and ‘the minimisation of long-term maintenance costs’.
The ‘Des Res Housing Challenge’ runs at the NLA until the 14th June. Its main aim is to fully explore the issues affecting planning, designing and developing. With the population of London ever increasing, the ‘Des Res Housing Challenge’ has produced a catalogue showing developments which they feel meet the needs of London in terms of eco-friendliness, design and affordability.
