Business Standards

Rydon is in the process of implementing an integrated management system across the Group which will see each division become registered to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OSHAS 18001.

At the current time, Rydon Construction is fully certified to ISO 9001 and BS18001 and has undergone a pre-assessment review by BSI to ISO 14001, and is looking to achieve full certification by March 2010.

Both Rydon Maintenance and Ryhurst are also fully certified to ISO 9001 with Rydon Maintenance also looking to be certified to BS 18001 by December 2009 with ISO 14001 following shortly afterwards. The overall objective continues to be to have a fully integrated system certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS 18001 across the whole Group, including Rydon Homes, by the end of 2010.

Rydon has planned the implementation of the above standards in consultation with United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) approved British standards Institute (BSI). Existing systems have undergone a complete effective review to ensure they reflect current working practices and to introduce new initiatives such as process mapping. We have also introduced new software to fully automate the system in an attempt to drive efficiency and improve communication. This is now known as the Rydon Management System (RMS). To support the continuous improvement of the systems we now have 18 formally trained internal auditors across the Group.

As the system is implemented an awareness training programme is being delivered to all personnel.
