"We value our number one asset - our staff"

Healthy living Initiative

More and more organisations are realising that employee health and wellbeing has a direct impact on business health. At Rydon Maintenance we have recently introduced a Healthy Living Initiative to staff and subcontractors on site.

What it involves

At Ferrier Point, Canning Town, a morning ‘drop in' was arranged for all staff and subcontractors on the site to visit. They had the opportunity to have their blood pressure taken and recorded, offered free, no-smoking advice along with general advice on how to lead a healthier lifestyle. Supported by the Blood Pressure Association (‘Know your numbers' campaign) and NHS Smokefree, those who attended received a variety of literature on how they can maintain a healthy blood pressure and be aware of keeping healthy.

The benefits:

  • Raising awareness
  • Encouraging participants to be aware of their blood pressure as much as they are of their height and weight - blood pressure is very important and can have huge health benefits when maintained at a healthy level
  • Demonstrating a level of care to our staff and subcontractors

The initiative will be carried out on a regular basis, offering all staff and subcontractors the same service.
