Construction Careers in Action

Greenwich Council's Education Business Partnership organised two Construction Careers in Action events at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich.

Students aged 13-19 years old from Greenwich Secondary Schools had the opportunity to work with Rydon as well as other qualified practitioners and professionals, learning about the various career paths and the underlying qualifications and training required.

Working with the young people through wall tiling tasks, plumbing and carpentry gave them an opportunity to test their skills and suitability, and hopefully discover a hidden talent which they want to progress! Employment and training advice was given to the students too, advising them of apprenticeship opportunities, the vacation schemes, grants and training - all of which are available to them at Rydon.

The day was a huge success, both the teachers and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed their day.

"Feedback from the schools involved was excellent, thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm that you showed to the students" Sue Hunter, Manager, Greenwich EBP
