The Rydon Homes' team who are delivering the Tonbridge Grammar School project have been recognised by the British Safety Council (BSC) for their outstanding commitment to safety, and have been awarded the prestigious International Safety Award for 2008.

The International Safety Awards scheme is devised to recognise and reward organisations from all classes of industry which show a commitment to improving corporate health and safety. Applicants are required to submit a completed information form providing the BSC's external adjudicators with:

  • a number of key documents relating to health and safety in the organisation
  • demonstration of board level commitment to health and safety, and
  • details of significant health and safety advances in the organisation for the qualifying year.

The award is also acknowledged by the Health and Safety Executive as a powerful motivator for achieving high safety standards.
