Rydon has successfully completed a second programme with the Prince’s Trust to help young people to ‘Get Into Construction’.
On Friday 18 March, 13 young people graduated from the ‘Get Into Construction’ programme at Packington Square in Islington. The two week course designed by Rydon, in collaboration with the Prince’s Trust and Hyde Housing, gives unemployed people aged 16-25 opportunities to learn new skills.
During the course the delivery team provides training in construction trades, as well as support in other skills to improve team work, communication skills, time keeping, boosting the confidence of the young people and developing interview skills and CVs. This programme is therefore far more than just a ‘taster day’ as the 13 young people have the opportunity to develop a range of important life skills.
The two week duration allows for true team building - a positive experience felt by all those involved in the programme. The Prince’s Trust is also committed to supporting every young person to get into employment, education or training after the course is over which is managed in conjunction with any opportunities offered by Rydon.
At the graduation ceremony all passed the course and were presented with their CSCS cards, an important qualification for the individuals, and a true credit to the dedication of the Rydon team to coach and prepare the young people for the test.
