Malcolm Pollard

Managing Director

Malcolm has been in the industry since 1964 and at Rydon since 1988, and was appointed to the Group Board when he took up his current position as Managing Director of Rydon Construction, in January 2006. Malcolm is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building and of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He has been at Rydon since 1988.

Simon Moore

Simon Moore

Construction Director

Simon has worked in the industry since 1975, starting as an indentured trade apprentice, developing through M&E installation & design, construction project management, contracts management, through to Construction Director.

He is directly responsible for the management of the Healthcare and Education business stream, in addition to the responsibility of establishing and developing the Regional Office at Bristol.

Simon is an advocate of delivering learning outcomes through construction / business activities. As a consequence of Rydon’s work with Wealden Skills Centre, he was invited to become a Governor of Uplands Community College, in East Sussex.

Simon is a Member of the Association of Project Managers (MAPM)

Mark Mitchener

Mark Mitchener

Construction Director

Mark joined Rydon in November 1999 having completed his studies at Sheffield City Polytechnic. He started his career as Planning Engineer at a contracting company, progressing over time through to construction management and onto the position of Construction Director at a major PLC developer.

Mark has led the Housing Regeneration business stream at Rydon, and introduced the new marketing brand for the private for sale, REAL. Mark also leads a number of initiatives linked to sustainability and employment for young people. In this capacity he has established close working relationships with One Planet products and The Princes Trust.

Tim Edwards

Tim Edwards

Commercial Director

Tim joined Rydon in October 1986 as an Assistant Estimator having completed his technical qualifications. His career at Rydon has seen promotions within the estimating department to his current position of Commercial Director where he is responsible for a pre-contract department of twelve staff.

Guy Hannell

Guy Hannell

Business Development Director

Guy began his career at Tarmac Construction. He joined Rydon in 1999 as an Assistant Site Manager and quickly progressed through the company, working on a variety of schemes including taking responsibility as Construction Manager for some of Rydon’s largest PFI healthcare projects. He was promoted to his current position as Business Development Director in November 2008.

Guy has a BSc Hons in Construction Management and is a MCIoB.

Chris Stevens

Chris Stevens

Surveying Director

Chris joined Rydon in 1984 after gaining experience with two other contracting companies. In his role as Surveying Director, he takes responsibility for the Group’s post contract commercial departments. Chirs has 35 yrs industry experience involving housing, development, construction, maintenance and refurbishment, across a broad range of procurement types and involving health, education, housing and cross subsidy development.

David Gardner

David Gardner

Company Secretary

David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996. In 2002 he joined Rydon to become financial controller for the Contracting division, having already had 5 years experience working as the accountant for another main contractor. He was appointed company secretary in 2006.

David is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
