Rydon began maintenance work in the healthcare market in 1997 to maintain a portfolio of 35 buildings that were in construction by the company for their first major NHS contract for the Oxleas PFI in Bexley.

This was the foundation of a long and successful partnership between Ryhurst and the construction and maintenance divisions of the Group for delivering and managing community and mental health facilities to the NHS across the south and south west of England.

Rydon is now maintaining over 200 buildings for 16 Trusts including the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health project and the new, award winning, Newton Abbot community hospital in Devon.
