Rydon Maintenance has committed to a full-scale upgrade of all of the handheld mobile units used by its operative work-force over the coming weeks to further increase efficiency.
The units, which are produced by HTC, the leading global provider of Microsoft Windows® Mobile-based devices, is not only smaller and more user-friendly than the PDAs currently being used, but also provides an integrated internal GPS receiver, enabling the units to run satellite navigations software.
The integration of satellite navigation is being positively received by both operatives and management as it is hoped that this will significantly cut down wasted travel time in locating difficult to find properties and in circumventing traffic problems.
