Rydon’s regeneration of Bacton Low Rise (Phase 1) has won the prestigious Building Magazine Award: Housing Project of the Year 2016.
The £50m redevelopment, which the Rydon team has been delivering on site since 2014, involves the full demolition of the estate, which suffered from inefficient design and was in poor condition and is making way for 290 new homes comprising 176 for open market sale, 104 for affordable rent and 10 for shared ownership.
The Building Awards judges picked Bacton Low Rise for the sought after accolade for the care and attention that has been put into delivering new homes and facilities that the residents had involvement in throughout the process, specifically:
