Building Lives apprentice Jack Upcraft has been crowned its ‘Star Apprentice of the Month’ whilst working with Rydon.

Jack has been working with Rydon Maintenance, where he is finishing his NVQ Level 2 apprenticeship, helping to refurbish void properties in Sutton through the contract with Sutton Housing Partnership.

He was nominated by Void Supervisor, Kevin Andrew, who said: “Jack has an excellent attitude and all round skills. He carries out instructions well. Has good time keeping and is willing to learn.”

Not only did Jack win the accolade of Star Apprentice he also won a toolkit sponsored by Travis Perkins, worth over £100!

Social enterprise Building Lives is an initiative that runs a number of academies with partners from colleges, social landlords, community groups and contractors.

Jack commented: "I'm really enjoying working for Rydon. I have learnt so much from my mentor. Winning this award means a lot to me and shows that I'm progressing."

Rydon also recognised multi-skills apprentice, Henry, for his hard work working with Sutton Housing Partnership. Henry was presented with a big bag of tools for his commitment, reliability and for being a great apprentice.
