The scheme set up to improve the image of the construction industry has handed Rydon six national awards for achieving some of the highest levels of consideration and care shown by active sites throughout the UK.
Rydon’s six awarded sites had been independently assessed by the Considerate Constructors Scheme throughout the build process last year. The assessors were so impressed by the standard that they awarded two silver and four bronze awards:
The ceremony was held at the Plaisterers Hall in London, with awards presented by Barry Clarke, President of the Institute of Civil Engineers.
The winning projects were selected from 8,500 eligible sites across the country to win, placing these projects within the best 7.5% of sites completed in 2012. The annual awards recognise sites' exceptional standards of consideration towards local neighbourhoods the general public, the workforce and the environment.
Chairman of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, David Watson said: “Once again even throughout these tough times for our industry, many sites have excelled to not only maintain standards, but surpass what has been achieved in previous years.”
