March 2016
We are delighted to report that a resident from one of the new homes built as part of Phase 1 at the Packington estate, Islington, turned 100 on Monday 14 March.
Rydon has been helping Olive Newman celebrate reaching such a fantastic milestone in her life by organising a bunch of flowers, cake and cards and a donation to her chosen charity.
Linda Padden our Resident Liaison Officer made the arrangements and shared a cuppa with her while she read her telegrams from the Queen and Iain Duncan Smith MP.
Her long life has seen her assemble torpedoes during the war, after which she worked for Tesco and Gordon’s Gin, at their Goswell Road site, until her retirement.
She was one of the first to move to Packington estate and says that the new flat she now lives in is so much warmer than the last one and she really enjoys the view of Regents Canal.
Both Olive and her family were delighted with the gifts and touched that Rydon took the time to do this.
