A flock of Rydon’s South West Construction team joined forces with other Bristol property companies for a charity treasure trail supporting the The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.

This summer 70 Shaun the Sheep sculptures have been placed in iconic locations and green spaces across Bristol. Titled ‘Shaun in the City’ the Shauns have been created by artists, designers and celebrities and are on display until the end of August.

Property advisers Bilfinger GVA hosted the charity treasure trail, which comprised teams from the Bristol property and development sector.

Teams were asked to find each of the sculptures around Bristol city centre with some hopping into taxis, as it could have been a close shave to reach Shauns from further afield.

Rydon’s Bristol office entered their own baa-rilliant team, titled The James Street Posse, comprising Simon Carter, Contracts Manager; Rob McGee Commercial Manager; Tim Lucy, Senior Surveyor; David Colling, Managing Surveyor and Tim Scouton (From GVA).

The event also included challenges to be found in pubs along the route – such as five minutes to put together a 100 piece Shaun jigsaw, balloon modelling and designing their own Shaun.

The team members were amongst 150 others who collectively raised £3,000 on the night for The Grand Appeal.

The flock of Shauns will go to auction later in the year, with funds raised from the 70 Bristol sculptures also going to The Grand Appeal.
