Rydon’s South West Region has handed over a stunning new leisure and community facility in the town of Pewsey in Wilshire, providing a brand new four-lane 25-metre swimming pool, a fitness suite, café and community space.
This redevelopment project of an existing building saw Rydon incorporate space for an indoor skate park where people can skateboard, scoot and BMX on top of an existing multi-use games area.
Keen to play their role in the community, Rydon’s site team held a weekly Pink Shirt Friday fundraiser to include all managers and supervisors on site. A total of £57 was raised which was donated to Pewsey Vale School to spend on school resources.
The Vale Health & Wellbeing Centre is the third contract Rydon has secured from Wiltshire Council as part of its £80m programme to deliver health and wellbeing centres across the county. Two other schemes have been successfully delivered by Rydon in Salisbury and Tisbury.
The services offered within health and wellbeing centres depend on the requirements of the local area and range from community and clinical space, leisure facilities, catering facilities and youth services alongside specialist services such as housing, revenues and benefits.
