On May 1, Rydon hosted its annual go-karting event at Buckmore Park. Eighteen teams from our client and consultant base as well as other partners, each hosted by a Rydon team captain, battled it out for a place on the podium during three hours of endurance racing.

While the event is always a popular fixture and great for networking, it is also our biggest fundraiser for the CRASH charity, which helps homelessness and hospices charities with their buildings.

Money is raised by teams bidding for grid positions before the start of the race as well as for generously donated prizes in a raffle. This year, we managed to raise a record-breaking £4,100.

The Winning Teams were as follows:

  • 1st – McLaren (Peter Arnold) – completed 202 laps
  • 2nd – Porsche (Dave Barton) – completed 202 laps
  • 3rd - Racing Point (Chris Kemp) – completed 199 laps

Other prizes were given for:

The Fastest Lap

  • Chris Thompson (50.810 seconds)

The Bent Steering Wheel (for the most spectacular track ‘incident’)

  • Neil Manley (Churchill Hui)

  • Neelima Khan (PTEa)
