Green Man Lane’s regeneration in West Ealing has unveiled a striking new mural created by local children and artists on its site hoarding, tying in the symbolism of the natural environment, rebirth and cycle of growth just like the former estate’s namesake.
Undergoing a complete transformation by Rydon and A2Dominion, the Green Man Lane scheme will provide around 800 new homes with a range of community facilities including a school to breathe new life into the community.
Organised by Mandie Wilde of arts centre Open Ealing, two of their artists came to the site alongside children from the local community and Parminder Basuta, Community Investment Co-ordinator, of A2Dominion.
The young Green Man Lane residents came up with the concept of including a Green Man and Green Woman figure in the mural. They also lent their creative hand to design the leaves and stencilled in their names in some of the leaves to sign off the masterpiece.

Calling the mural ‘Green Union 2016’ the group wanted to show how the Green figures not only symbolised rebirth and regeneration but also the need for humans to become mindful of their natural environment and the effect of humans and by our products.
The Rydon site team was proud to be able to offer our hoarding as a canvas for the creative talents of the local community as we aim to shape better quality lives through our work.
