Rydon’s answer to the Great British Bake Off saw a number of keen amateur bakers take part in our own Bake Off competition and in the process raise over £500 for charity.

With the search underway to find the UK’s best home baker on national TV, The Staff Forum at Rydon held a series of its own challenges at its offices in Forest Row.

Each of the three rounds (Cakes, Sweet pastries & biscuits and Savouries) were expertly judged by Denise Clark from the Cyrnel Bakery, Forest Row’s very own answer to the Great British Bake Off’s judging panel.

It was an impressive display of Rydon bakery talent with the proceeds from each of the rounds totalling just over £500 going to Shooting Star Chase Hospice, a Surrey-based leading children's hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

The winners of the three rounds were:

  • Cakes: Carly Brown (Vanilla Rainbow Cake)
  • Sweet pastries & biscuits: Yasmin Worrall (Chocolate Brownies)
  • Savouries: Mike Hiscox (Cheese & Onion Quiche)

A big thank you to all those who baked and purchased these delicious home-crafted products.
