Rydon held its annual charity go-karting challenge at Buckmore Park on May 10th raising a fantastic £3,500 for CRASH, the construction industry’s charity.

The circuit where Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button honed their skills as youngsters played host to 16 teams of construction and housing industry experts.

The teams battled it out in wet conditions for a podium finish whilst raising money for CRASH through a combination of bidding for their podium place and a raffle.

CRASH’s Fundraising & Events Manager Jenny Vaidya joined the competitors and supporters after the event and was presented a cheque by Rydon Construction’s Managing Director, Mark Mitchener, who commented: “To bring so many people together from the housing and construction industries and raise money for charity, all while having a good time, can only be positive. The work that CRASH does to support those less fortunate is admirable and we are very pleased to support them.”

Jenny Vaidya said of the support: “CRASH is delighted to be the benefitting charity of such a wonderful event and we are incredibly grateful to Rydon for helping support our work with homeless and hospice charities”.

2016 marks CRASH’s 20th anniversary over which two decades the charity has channelled the expertise and materials of the construction industry to build, refurbish and develop buildings that help to positively shape the lives of vulnerable and homeless men and women.
