Rangeford Villages and Octopus Real Estate have appointed Rydon for the delivery of its new c.£50m lifestyle village for the over 60s in Gloucestershire.
Comprising 125 luxury new homes, Siddington Park is scheduled to start in Spring 2020 and will be located on a 12-acre former parkland site on the outskirts of Cirencester.
The village will feature a selection of 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments, ranging from 642sqft to 1,798sqft. Construction of the village will take place on 8.2 acres of the site and is scheduled to be completed in late summer 2022.
Rydon has worked closely with Rangeford Villages since early 2017 and its appointment comes following the successfully delivery of Rangeford Village’s £22m Phase 2 (90 units) project at Wadswick Green in Wiltshire.
Paul Barber, South West Regional Director for Rydon Construction, commented: “We are delighted to work on another of Rangeford Villages’ stunning purpose built communities, delivering age-appropriate luxury homes that promote wellness and social interaction in a beautiful landscaped setting.
“This is an exciting opportunity for us as we grow our business in high-quality retirement housing whilst bringing opportunities for local businesses and young people to train in our sector.”
Siddington Park will be managed and operated by the award winning Rangeford Villages with an array of onsite amenities including a restaurant and coffee shop, wellness spa, pool, gym, concierge and integrated care services.
Siddington Park builds on the established partnership between Rangeford Villages and Octopus Real Estate, which has led to the development of modern retirement villages Wadswick Green in Wiltshire and Mickle Hill in North Yorkshire.
Octopus Real Estate is a part of the Octopus Group and is a leading investor in healthcare facilities across the UK and Ireland. Rangeford Villages is a dedicated developer and operator of contemporary retirement villages.
Kevin Beirne, Retirement Director at Octopus Real Estate, commented: “At Octopus Real Estate we are determined to tackle the significant undersupply of high-quality retirement housing in the UK. The demand is being driven by a growing aging population who want to downsize and enjoy retirement in high end accommodation with the best facilities including the likes of a spa, pool, gym and concierge service.
“Siddington Park will create modern homes that are better suited to the aspirational lifestyles modern over 60s are looking for to complement their active and social lifestyles. The development is in an idyllic setting and has been designed to complement the existing housing provision in this area for the affluent Cotswolds community. We look forward to seeing the development progress.”
Howard Nankivell, Chief Executive Officer of Rangeford Villages, added: “The face of the retirement living sector continues to evolve and the growth of our portfolio reflects the growing demand for later living developments like Siddington Park. More and more over 60s are seeking high quality retirement properties that will become a lifestyle investment for them.
“Siddington Park will create a thriving new community that encourages people to make the most of their retirement in an idyllic setting.
“This is our third development in partnership with Octopus Real Estate and we are looking forward to growing our position with them further in the retirement sector.”
