Two Rydon projects have been shortlisted for a Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Award, the prestigious industry prize from the organisation that works to improve the image of our industry.
The Rydon developments in consideration for this honour are:
Packington estate, Islington
This is a major scheme to regenerate the Packington Estate in Islington, which is being delivered in a 50:50 joint venture partnership with the Hyde Group. A total of 538 structurally defective flats on the estate are being replaced with 791 mixed-tenure houses and flats with residents in occupation, across an eight-year, six-phase programme.
Nelson Health Centre, Wimbledon
A new £10m community health facility in Wimbledon to replace the existing Nelson Hospital with a BREEAM Excellent rated building, housing two GP clinics, a café, pharmacy and associated office accommodation. The Nelson Local Care Centre will provide flexible and extended GP and outpatient services through modern, state-of-the-art facilities, including retinal screening, podiatry, x-ray/ultrasound, endoscopy and phlebotomy services.
The awards are due to take place in March and each shortlisted scheme could win a gold, silver or bronze award. There is also the opportunity to win the coveted Most Considerate Site 2015.
Last year in November, Rydon won two gold awards at the 2014 Considerate Constructors Scheme National Company Awards and in doing so won more golds than any other company, from 16 awarded throughout the country. Read more about this achievement here.
