Rydon’s Refurbishment team has been appointed by Origin Housing to deliver a comprehensive upgrade to Ashton Court Extra Care facility in Camden Town, London. Built in the 1970s the building is in need of renovation and many of the properties are small and well below current standards. The work will improve accessibility and facilities enabling a better standard of living for elderly residents.

The £5.3m scheme will be delivered by Rydon Maintenance’s Refurbishment team and will include remodelling the interior to provide 24 larger more accessible apartments as well as introducing balconies for residents.  The communal areas will be rebuilt and new apartments provided, creating a modern community facility for residents to enjoy.

Within the facility there will also be:

  • A lift
  • Communal lounge
  • Laundry room
  • Guest facilities
  • Garden Area

To assist the funding of the upgrade and remodelling, five new three storey mews houses will also be developed on the site for market sale for Origin Housing.

Situated in the well-connected and vibrant Camden, residents will have easy access to transport and high street amenities. The Irish Centre in Murray Street is also nearby giving residents the opportunity to socialise and take part in activities such as bingo, afternoon tea, exercise groups, morning coffee and soup lunches.

Rydon has a broad range of experience in delivering Extra Care facilities that give the older generation the opportunity to live independently while getting the care and support they need.
