A former candidate on a Get Into Construction programme with The Prince’s Trust and Rydon has raised £600 for an Ex Services charity close to her heart.
Sophie Savage is on a work placement at the Bacton Low Rise regeneration project in Camden after successfully completing the two week Get Into programme and impressing the site management team.
Sophie, who previously served with the RAF and was medically discharged, is now seeking a new career in construction and wanted to raise funds for Future for Heroes, who helped her get back on track when she left the forces.
Future for Heroes is a charity organisation serving the armed forces and veterans of all ranks returning to civilian life. It runs free courses to help people make the physical and emotional adjustments required to successfully reintegrate into civilian life.
Her grand total of £600 was raised from organising a raffle, hosting a bake sale and selling Future for Heroes wrist bands to site office staff and subcontractors at the Bacton Low Rise regeneration scheme in Camden.

Rydon is delivering the £50m regeneration of Bacton Low Rise involving the full demolition of the estate, which suffers from inefficient design and is in poor condition, making way for 290 new homes comprising 176 for open market sale, 104 for affordable rent and 10 for shared ownership.
Other improvements include a new and altered public realm, landscaping, vehicular and pedestrian links as well as three new retail units.
