Rydon has secured a series of new-build, refurbishment and redevelopment contracts with registered providers in London and the South East worth £20 million.
The projects for Paradigm Housing and The Hyde Group cover a variety of works to deliver quality accommodation and modern facilities within affordable and sheltered housing developments across London, East Sussex and Kent, and include:
Lea Bridge House, East London
This £7m project for Paradigm Housing in East London involves the redevelopment of a 10-storey hostel for homeless people. Two single-storey wings of a 10-storey tower will be demolished and replaced with two new-build hostel blocks, providing additional bedrooms and communal facilities.
Refurbishment work to the tower will provide internal and external improvements to the existing accommodation, including a new reception area, offices, laundry, access to the new hostel wings, as well as external landscaping.
Frognal Place, Sidcup
A £6.1m development to refurbish and reconfigure 82 apartments in 11 blocks, originally built as NHS accommodation for staff based at the nearby Queen Mary’s Hospital, into 84 two and three-bed accommodation.
They will be fitted out for shared ownership and intermediate rented accommodation for The Hyde Group.
Jeff Henton, Managing Director of Rydon Maintenance, commented:
“Securing this work is testament to Rydon’s track record and versatility in the residential sector, particularly across London and the South East. We look forward to delivering quality new homes, which in turn, will improve the provision of affordable and sheltered housing in these communities.”
