A new state-of-the-art automotive facility under construction by Rydon in Bradford on Avon has been host to a group of architectural students who received first-hand experience of a live construction project.

The University of Bath arranged the visit for the second year students to visit the site with project architect SRA Architects and Rydon. They showed the group around AB Dynamics’ existing manufacturing base before they came to site for a tour by the Rydon site team wearing PPE.

Leighton McCarthy, Project Manager, and Lee Elliott, Senior Site Manager, from Rydon gave the students a general overview of the scheme including the construction processes being deployed, as well as providing a Q&A session answering questions in particular around building fabric.

AB Dynamics, one of the world’s leading specialists in automotive test systems, appointed Rydon to deliver this new 33,000 sq ft purpose-built manufacturing facility to improve productivity and support the future expansion of the organisation. The company supply integrated test systems for the global automotive industry as well as lab and track-based testing of autonomous driving and safety technologies.
