Rydon and agent Site Sales have been shortlisted by the First Time Buyer Reader’s Awards for Lavender Crescent, a new development of stylish and contemporary homes in Carshalton, Sutton.

The three bedroom townhouses, being created as part of an £83m redevelopment of Durand Close, have been nominated for the Best Family Home category.

The First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards are organised alongside leading property magazine First Time Buyer and celebrate the best of new homes designed to meet the needs of first-time purchasers and help people on to the housing ladder.

Winners will be announced in a ceremony hosted by TV presenter Nicki Chapman at London’s Waldorf Hilton hotel on 22 April.

Lavender Crescent provides 29 highly specified and spacious homes comprising 14 one and two bedroom apartments and 15 three bedroom family townhouses. The successful launch has seen almost all of the new homes reserved and a further phase of the townhouses brought forward to cater for demand.

The phased re-development of Durand Close started in 2006 to provide 346 bespoke homes, combining a blend of apartments and houses along with open spaces, a community centre and café to make life pleasurable for all.

Lavender Crescent is a sustainable development achieving high insulation values, using timbers from sustainable forests, renewable technologies such as photo voltaic panels and a CHP centralised heating system to serve the development. Riverside improvement works have promoted wildlife and ecology and privately managed landscaping parks and play areas will also be provided.
