Poplar Harca's newly unveiled William Cotton Court in the heart of the East End. The mixed-use scheme was built by Rydon and designed by Gibberd Architects on a brownfield site, forming a key part of the regeneration of this part of Tower Hamlets.
The 3,370sqm of commercial space on the lower levels will be let for community and health related services and include a Health Centre, a dentistry and pharmacy together with research facilities for the school nearby.
Higher up there are 34 affordable homes arranged around two cores (13 for social rent and 21 for shared ownership). The design incorporates photovoltaic panels and all flats achieve Lifetime Homes as well as Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3. The external façades are a mixture of brick, rain screen and render cladding.
