Rydon, working with joint venture partner A2Dominion, has started work on the second phase of the £155m Green Man Lane regeneration scheme in West Ealing.

Demolition recently started on site ahead of construction in early 2015 for phase two’s 187 homes.

Detailed Planning permission was granted by Ealing Council in Autumn 2013 for the 126 private sale and 61 affordable homes.

The regeneration project, designed by Conran and Partners, will deliver over 700 new homes, a community café, community centre, green spaces and play areas once complete.

Tom Rigby, Development Director for Rydon, commented: “This second phase continues the journey to bring new life to Green Man Lane, creating more high quality new homes and local facilities in an exciting design that is integrated with the wider community. We’re looking forward to bringing further employment and training opportunities to Ealing as part of the construction process.”

David Price, A2Dominion’s Regeneration Director, added: “The Green Man Lane regeneration is transforming a run-down 1970s estate that was previously blighted by overcrowding, crime and antisocial behaviour.

“The plans for phase two comprise a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, including over 20 homes for wheel-chair users. Work will also start on building a new public pathway to provide a direct link from the south to the north of the development.”

The second phase is due for completion in 2017 and plans for a third and fourth phase are in place, with a further 400 homes, community facilities and an expanded local school expected on site by 2020.

Phase one, which completed earlier this year, provided 176 apartments and houses.

A community and arts café will launch in early 2015 to the Ealing public following a successful pilot this year.
