Resolutely human in scale, High Trees also artfully expresses the surface textures of the materials from which it is built.
Traditional style wire cut bricks contrast with warm, terracotta tile hanging to give a truly hand built, crafted flavour to the building's exterior. Feature entrances and window lintels are harmoniously designed using the same brick type, whilst the roof is close tiled in the vernacular dark brown. Cottage style doors and windows complete the effect.
A SEQUESTERED, SUPERIOR SETTING
Enter High Trees through its access gates and you arrive in an established, leafy oasis. Surrounded on all sides by the retained, mature trees from which the development takes it name, the development's outside space will also feature a wealth of new planting and shrubbery.
Announcing the front of the building is a planted, curved feature complete with a retained, majestically mature tree. To the rear is a shaded, grassy area ideal for sitting out on summer evenings. Added to this, each of the cottages and the ground floor apartments have their own gardens with patio terraces, giving an even greater sense of privacy.
Finally, High Trees' perimeter retains a wide variety of wild shrubs and hedging, shielding it beautifully and giving it an aspect that feels blissfully sequestered and off the 'beaten track'.
