Avon & Wiltshire

On the 1st March 2004, the £78 million contract between Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust and Ryhurst was signed. The new and refurbished facilities were completed by the end of 2006 and include the following:

Calling Road Hospital: a mental health unit, including inpatient, day hospital and rehabilitation facilities for people in central and south Bristol based at Callington road, Brislington.

Blackberry Hill Hospital: a new 80 bed medium secure unit based in north Bristol provides a service for male patients from Gloucestershire and Wiltshire and female patients from Devon & Cornwall. Also adjacent to the medium secure unit is a female psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) and a high dependency rehabilitation service unit covering the whole of South Gloucestershire.

South Gloucestershire and North Somerset: new community mental health houses.

The project term is 30 years with the development undertaken by Rydon Construction Limited. The hard FM service is provided by Rydon Property Maintenance Limited which includes planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance - responding to requests from trust staff via 24 hr helpdesk, energy management, life cycle replacement, window cleaning, pest control, landscape maintenance and waste disposal.
