Hertford County Hospital

Hertford County Hospital

The contract was signed in May 2003 and the hospital was handed over to the Trust on 9 November 2004.

The new-state-of-the-art Hertford County Hospital, which replaces the existing, outdated one, has been designed to support a new model of care, capable of meeting strict energy-efficiency targets and flexible enough to allow future expansion and modification.

Located just a mile from Hertford town centre, the hospital has opened a new chapter of healthcare in Hertford.

The new hospital has been designed to be a specialist centre, providing a wider range of local services. These include outpatients, radiology, pathology and therapies. It also offers facilities for community nursing teams and mental health. Coupled with the new build is a much smaller grade 2 listed building that also forms part of the PFI. Ryhurst now provides the Hard FM services only.
