Herts and Essex Community Hospital

Ryhurst signed one of the first schemes nationally under the NHS Standard Form Contract on 4 May 2001.

The Contract was signed with the newly formed Royston, Buntingford and Bishop's Stortford PCT, just over 12 months from preferred partner selection.

The scheme comprised the development of a new Community Hospital to replace the previous out dated Herts & Essex Hospital, for a capital investment of £14.1 million.

The new hospital provides 68 inpatient beds for rehabilitation and elderly mental health, an outpatient department, minor injuries service and a wide range of other services for adults and children including a GP Surgery.

The new hospital became operational in Spring 2003. Ryhurst will provide all facilities management services for a period of 30 years.
