Liskeard Community Hospital

Liskeard Community Hospital

This new hospital replaced two old and outdated hospitals as well as re-providing facilities for the Community Mental Health Team (CMTH), a day resource centre and a health office based in nearby locations.

The new building encompasses a 19-bed inpatient GP ward, a 33-bed inpatient elderly ward, facilities for minor injuries and minor surgery, a diagnostic suite and therapies and support services.

The contract was signed on 17 July 2002 and the building went operational on 6 January 2004.

"We are very pleased with the new building which provides excellent facilities for patient care. Ryhurst have been excellent in both listening and responding to the clinicians and community ideas and needs. They were prepared to develop and incorporate new ideas throughout the project, which is vital in building healthcare facilities where advances and changes in services and technology demand a flexible environment."
