The contract was signed on 28 July 2003 and both nursing homes went operational in June 2004.
The two 35-bedded NHS Nursing Homes for older people with mental illness are both located in community settings, providing a high quality, homely and safe environment appropriate for this client group and in line with the NHS NSF's and NHS guidance on single sex accommodation.
The first home is based at Rawreth Lane, Rayleigh and the second is based on the former Westcliff Hospital site in Southend-on-Sea. Ryhurst provide FM services and the approximate floor area covered is 3456m² with a capital value of £6m.
