In 2003, Rydon was successful in winning the largest mental health PFI contract in the country for the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. This was a £64 million multi site scheme covering Bristol, south Gloucestershire and north Somerset.
This contract opened the door to an important new geographical region and the company took the strategic initiative of making a long-term commitment to growth and expansion in the South West region. Having initially opened an office for Rydon Construction just outside Marlborough, the company has now consolidated its operations in modern new offices located in Ham Green, on the outskirts of Bristol.
Rydon's Bristol office is now home to regional teams representing Rydon Construction, Rydon Maintenance and Ryhurst.
Construction activity has focused on Rydon's core sectors of health, housing and education but the regional office has also been successful in securing a number of contracts across a wider client base. In particular Rydon was successful in being selected by Aspire Defence as part of the Allenby/Connaught framework, the largest infrastructure Private Finance Initiative project ever let by the Ministry of Defence. Rydon's role is to support Aspire Defence in the modernisation and reprovision of a significant number of military facilities around the Salisbury Plain.
Rydon's South West team offers a diversity of services, including new build, refurbishment (including listed properties) and facilities management.
