Rydon Construction were engaged by CIT Property Group to build a 30,000 sq ft extension to create additional retail space at the Brunel Shopping Centre in the heart of Swindon's
town centre.

The scheme carried with it all the difficulties and sensitivities of working in and around a ‘live' shopping centre environment. This was one of the deciding factors the client took into consideration when selecting Rydon for the project.

As part of the regeneration of the town centre, Rydon has removed the outdated canopy to the promenade areas and replaced it with a glass canopy, more in line with the 21st century. This meant working at night so as to cause the minimum of disruption to the centre and those who use and work in it.
