Rydon has completed Tamar Court for Alliance Homes Group in Weston Super Mare.

The £9m contract was to deliver a state of the art Extra Care scheme which provides a range of housing, care and support for people with dementia.

Situated in Worle in north Somerset, Tamar Court replaced an existing care home and comprises of 65 self-contained flats and community facilities. The development represents Alliance Homes Group’s largest single project to date.

Specialist dementia facilities within the building include a Wellbeing Centre and a number of community resources such as a café lounge, activity room, hairdresser with therapy consultation area and a library.

Externally, landscaped gardens will surround the new building and upper levels will feature balcony areas with sun shading.

The scheme has been developed in a partnership between Alliance Homes Group, North Somerset Council and NHS North Somerset and has also received funding from the Homes and Communities Agency.

The project was completed within the 82 week program and was constructed to a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ environmental rating.
