The new Swindon Health Centre on Fleming Way and is being delivered by Rydon for Muse Developments. It will be a larger, more modern health centre, which will replace the Carfax Street Health Centre. NHS Property Services are responsible for delivering the project, supported by NHS England, NHS Swindon CCG and Public Health Swindon.
The new health centre will form part of the Kimmerfields development and will sit alongside the already constructed new 850-space multi-storey car park and assisted living residential building, delivered as part of the first phase.
The health centre will provide a full range of community and enhanced primary care services to over 22,000 registered patients, over 36,000 unregistered and a walk-in centre for the local population and the wider area. The new health centre will be built over four levels which will offer more patient services than those currently available at Carfax Street Health Centre, with plans to include a pharmacy, two GP practices, dental, podiatry and a variety of community health services.
The project will achieve BREEAM Excellent and was secured by negotiation.
