The New Victoria Hospital

The New Victoria Hospital, a private hospital in Kingston upon Thames, selected Rydon to deliver a substantial new-build extension together with alterations and refurbishment of the existing facility in southwest London.

The new wing houses a variety of hospital departments and functions including four new theatres, a High Dependency Unit, a 14 bed day surgery unit, a new outpatient department with treatment rooms and an increased number of consulting rooms with ancillary services. Non-clinical work included the provision of new main entrance and reception areas as well as new kitchen and dining facilities.

The project included the careful demolition of the existing Coombe Manor, a mock Tudor house currently used as part of the hospital. Alteration and refurbishment within the existing building meant the relocation of a CT scanner facility, allowing for a new inpatient reception area, pharmacy, a number of new clinical treatment areas and four additional bedrooms.

The hospital is renowned for its high standards of care and service to its patients and will continue to be fully operational throughout the contract period, requiring Rydon to ensure business continuity at all times.
