Wiltshire College, Construction Skills Centre

TROWBRIDGE

Contract Name:
Wiltshire College, Construction Skills Centre
Contract Value:
£3 million
Architect:
EWA Architects
Client:
Wiltshire College

This project was for a new Construction Skills Centre for Wiltshire College’s Trowbridge campus.

Rydon employed local businesses to carry out much of the work as well as engaging students from the college in work experience on site.

Building work was started with a breaking ground ceremony, which saw staff and students come together with Rydon to celebrate the milestone.

The new 2,303 sq m two-storey building has transformed the campus, replacing two existing buildings and providing new facilities for construction trades. It has also enabled Wiltshire College to extend the range of courses and trades that it is able to offer to students.

The new centre has been designed to meet the growing needs of local employers and the community for courses and apprenticeships within the construction industry.

Wiltshire College is based across four campuses in Chippenham, Lackham, Salisbury and Trowbridge and teaches 3,300 full-time, 6,000 part-time and 800 University level students.
